This variety was established in Bordeaux France in the 17th century. Cabernet Franc is similar to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot but differs by smaller compact and mostly cylindrical clusters. The clusters are tighter than Cabernet Sauvignon due to greater berry set. Blends well with both Cabernet and Merlot.
